This results in a looser dental structure and aids in the mechanical preparation of the root canal. In contrast to sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, squa regia, etc., Calcinase does not produce corrosion of the mucosa or tongue, or affect hands or clothing, neither does it attack sensitive instruments. Calcinase may also be used to advantage in locating hidden root canal openings, for convenient ablation of infected dentin if the root canals have to be enlarged, and for removal of broken root canal instruments. Its disinfection power is equal to that of beachwood creosote. 50 ml of liquid per bottle
